Southgate is a city in Wayne County, Michigan, United States.The population was 30,047 at the 2020 census. [4] Southgate was incorporated as a city on October 8, 1958, which was one of the last remaining portions of the now-defunct Ecorse Township.
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 1,787 people, 650 households, and 501 families residing in the township. The population density was 50.9 inhabitants per square mile (19.7/km 2).
