Brigham Young University–Idaho (BYU–Idaho or BYUI) is a private college in Rexburg, Idaho. Founded 137 years ago in 1888, the college is owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Previously known as Ricks College, it transitioned from a junior college to a baccalaureate institution in 2001. [3] [4]

EFY participants gather to listen to speakers in June 2017 on the BYU campus. The traditional overnight-stay EFY programs are normally held on college campuses. BYU is the largest destination, hosting about 13,000 participants each summer. [10] In some limited situations EFY has been held in a hotel rather than on a university campus.

More than 150 congregations meet on BYU campus each Sunday, where "BYU's campus becomes one of the busiest and largest centers of worship in the world" with about 24,000 persons attending church services on campus. [146] Some 97 percent of male BYU graduates and 32 percent of female graduates have served as Latter-day Saint missionaries. [147]
In May 2019, the folk dance ensemble joined other BYU performing groups on BYU Young Ambassadors's 40th anniversary tour of China. [7] The ensemble consists of 180 dancers, 30 of which are on the touring team. [2] The touring team is made up of 46 student dancers, musicians, and technicians. [8]
