Re: Stiller vs. Defiance Actions I have a Skunkworks(Defiance action) custom and love the action. If I were buying just an action then maybe the Stiller would be an option as the cost is just a little less especially during group buys. But when your approaching the $1k mark for an action the waters get muddied in a hurry.

    244. Location. Western, USA. Mar 8, 2020. #6. I have Stiller TAC 300 actions on two of my more recent rifles and they are fantastic. They are tight and very accurate. Those two rifles shoot as well as my rifles that have Defiance and Surgeon actions and usually run for around $1000 or slightly less.

That was my thoughts but just curious why it took so long for someone to advertise prefits for stillers since they’ve been around for sometime. I know they aren’t the new popular kid on the block but ...

I have to say the Pierce is a noticeably smoother action, the Stiller doesn't really have that "custom" feel to it - however the small ejection port on the Pierce short action is a pain when ejecting loaded rounds.

Ive read enough times on this BB where guys brag about their rails being "pinned" etc...etc.. and its a bunch of crap!

Lexington, KY. Aug 15, 2014. #16. The clearances on BAT actions are extremely tight. For a hunting or tactical rifle, Stiller might be a safer bet as their clearances are more loose. I have had both BAT and Stiller along with Defiance and Badger actions. My BAT model M was benchrest tight.

Jan 26, 2014. #3. I don't believe quality of the Stiller actions has ever been the question. Jerry Stiller builds a fine action. However there delivery times have been a huge problem for them. I had a "Drop Port" Viper on order with them for three years and finally just gave up. I shoot with more than one guy that has had the same problems with ...
