  2. Finally see why AMEX customer service matters : r/amex - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/amex/comments/himdb5/finally_see_why_amex_customer_service...

The different between customer service on no AF Amex cards and the Platinum is almost none existent. This is a good thing for Amex, since their customer service is good at all levels and helps retain long term customers (arguably, this shows Amex is also the better "corporate citizen"). Chase only seems to care about their CSR customers.

During the pandemic, Amazon or Chase both have severely cut back on customer service help. AMEX did have someone answer my phone call in a reasonable time and do a good job dealing with my issue. In more normal times, all of the above and many others have high quality customer service standards.

The customer service was horrendous, i spent hours just trying to get my account working, and kept being transferred to people because no one could help. I had to verify my credentials every time. Needless to say because of the absolute shit customer service I cancelled the card the same day.

There are customer service tiers 1-4 depending on the card product and your overall relationship with AMEX. T1 are core/co-brand products, and T2 are high-value cardmembers with core/co-brand products (priority for US-based CCP). T3 (Platinum) and T4 (Centurion/Escalations) is all handled out of Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix.

  8. Is Amex customer service still top notch? : r/amex - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/amex/comments/1b4wqqd/is_amex_customer_service_still_top_notch

Amex marketing is leagues beyond any of the other card issuers. This is important because perception drives reality. You won’t realize that Amex’s vaunted customer service is a paper facade unless you actually poke at it yourself. IMO Amex isn’t meaningfully better or worse than most other card issuers these days.

  10. AMEX customer service is second to none : r/amex - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/amex/comments/nw0rfg/amex_customer_service_is_second_to_none

Chase customer service isn't avg. even, it's AWFUL. Amex is FAR superior. I went into branch to get the branch CSP offer (waived AF) with my private client banker. Didn't get instant approval despite 800+ score, significant deposits in CPC accounts, 3/24. They called lending services and they had computer issues.

  11. Amex Customer Service. Just yikes. : r/AmexPlatinum - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/AmexPlatinum/comments/193p1sm/amex_customer_service_just_yikes

Amex Customer Service, every last one of them, can't seem to locate any record of me uploading any documents for this request. I've been trying for the past month, and I'm annoyed. I have over 100k points in limbo because my Skymiles account has my married name (thank you, Delta, for getting that done), but my Amex has my maiden name.
