Hi, I install Avast 5.0.377 Free in Win 7 in a HP dc5100 capable with Windows XP (no Win 7 "Capable", but all works fine with it). I made a Scan before start Windows and this broke, I need made a system restore for repair.

This is due to the insidious installation of the Avast Windows 7 desktop gadget that I did not request, but which apparently comes automatically packaged with the newest Avast installation. It is annoying to no end and required 1/2 hr of my time wasted in order to find out how to remove it (no option other than Control Panel -> Change!), then ...
When I installed Avast Free version 5 on my system (Win 7 64bit) it installed directly to Program Files folder (not to Program Files x86) so I guess it 64 bit version recognized automatically. Logged

I installed avast free to a new netbook with window 7 OS. The wifi connection was fine when the avast free was not yet registered. But once I registered the avast free online, the wifi connection indicates that it has no internet access but could still browse the local area network. Can anybody please help on how to resolve this.

Avast 4.x (too my knowledge it is the latest non-BETA) F:/ (partition made for Windows 7, Windows 7 thinks it's C:/ and that the real C:/ (above) is F:/) Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate Build 7000 Originally I couldn't get avast to install.
