Porsche 964 Carrera Porsche 964 Carrera 4 cabriolet. The 964 was considered to be 85% new as compared to its predecessor, the Carrera 3.2. The first 964s available in 1989 were all wheel drive equipped "Carrera 4" models; Porsche added the rear wheel drive Carrera 2 variant to the range in 1990.
In addition to the coupé and cabriolet versions, Targa versions of the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S were also available, which continued the trend of the "glass canopy" roof design used since its first application in the 993 until the 991 generation. This was later reverted to the classic targa top layout used in earlier models of the 911 Targa.
Porsche launched the Carrera GTS, Carrera 4 GTS, and Targa 4 GTS in 2021. The Carreras both used the twin-turbocharged 3L flat-6 which produced a power of 480 PS (473 hp; 353 kW) and a maximum torque of 651 N⋅m (480 lb⋅ft), while the Targa used the same engine but with a displacement of 2.9L.

The brake calipers are painted silver, as is the Carrera 4 badge on the engine cover. The center wheel-caps carry the Carrera 4 logo instead of the Porsche crest. The Carrera 4 has a curb weight of 1,420 kg (3,131 lb), same as the standard Carrera cabriolet, and in both instances more than the Carrera coupé.
