Note that in APA 5th Edition style, the following rules apply for the reference: For reference books, which includes encyclopedias, dictionaries, and glossaries, the book title is preceded by the word In. It is not italicized, but the book title following it is. The book title appears in sentence case.

His argument wouldn't carry much weight here, as we actually do italicize board game titles such as Monopoly.

Minor works (and any specifically titled subdivisions of italicized major works) are given in double quotation marks not italics, even when the title is not in English. I don't see why they should be treated differently from titles of books, or why there should be a distinction between popular song titles and the titles of orchestral works, for example. A quick flick through som emusic mags seems to back me up on this - all titles are generally italicized when quoted within a body of text.

It does not auto-italicize. Major works (books, plays, albums, feature films, etc.) should be italicized; minor works (articles, chapters, poems, songs, TV episodes, etc.) go in quotation marks (see MOS:TITLES). Additional citation information can be provided in a fourth parameter, |source=, below, which will appear after the title.
