In 1985, Scott Porter raced the 302 SR-1 "Secret Formula" to win the Southeast Divisional Championship. Boats from the Formula catalog won the World Championships for the American Power Boat Association in 2003. A Formula-sponsored Unlimited Hydroplane won first place in the American Boat Racing Association's National High Points race in 2006.
He built his own racing special, topped with a Microplas Mistral body. Goodwin incorporated Sports Car Engineering (SCE) in 1957 to manufacture Mistral bodies under license and sell them as the SCE Spyder. [2] [3] SCE's bodies incorporated the innovation of bonding steel tubing into the fiberglass for rigidity. SCE also manufactured custom chassis.

Akton "Ak" Miller was a long-time hot-rodder and racing driver as well as NHRA vice-president. [13] He built a series of five or six Miller-Devin specials powered by a variety of engines. [14] Three of the cars raced at the Pikes Peak hill climb. [1]: 135–136 Miller built his first Devin-bodied special in 1958 for the Pikes Peak hill climb.
The Snipe is a racing sailboat, with early examples built with wooden hulls and more recent ones with hulls made from fiberglass. It has a fractional sloop rig, a spooned raked stem, an angled transom, a transom-hung rudder controlled by a tiller with an extension and a retractable daggerboard. It displaces 380 lb (172 kg).
