The Hyosung GT650 Comet is a motorcycle manufactured by Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc. [3] It is available in naked (GT650), half-fairing (GT650S), and full-fairing (GT650R) variants. Cycle World recorded a tested 0-60mph time of 4.2 sec. and a 1/4 mile time of 12.84 sec. @ 102.22 mph. [ 1 ]
The GT250R came out at the same time and although it seems it never officially had the "Comet" suffix, early fairings do seem to have Comet stickers. They were the official motorcycle supplier for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. In 2003, Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc . was spun off from the Hyosung Group to become its own corporate entity. In June 2007, Hyosung Motors Division was acquired by Korean company S&T Group (Science and Technology), and the name was changed to S&T Motors.
