Cally Palace, formerly known as Cally House, is an 18th-century country house in the historical county of Kirkcudbrightshire in Dumfries and Galloway, south-west Scotland. The house is now a four star country house hotel and golf resort. It is located 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) south of Gatehouse of Fleet.
Abingdon is a town in and the county seat [5] of Washington County, Virginia, United States, 133 miles (214 km) southwest of Roanoke. The population was 8,376 at the 2020 census . The town encompasses several historically significant sites and features a fine arts and crafts scene centered on the galleries and museums along Main Street.
The dendrochronology testing, which examines the wood in the building, reveals the structure may date to 1786–87, just before George Washington took office. The building, one of the oldest in Prince William County, is currently used by the county for its Historic Preservation offices.
The Leesylvania Archeological Site (44PW7), Old Hotel, and Weems-Botts Museum are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [8] Dumfries was combined with the community of Triangle, Virginia, to form Dumfries-Triangle in the 1950 United States census. However, the two communities were separated again by the time of the 1960 census.
