Texas City Independent School District is a public school district based in Texas City, Texas. It serves most of Texas City and La Marque as well as a portion of Tiki Island. [2] In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. [3]
The Toro Company was established as the "Toro Motor Company" in 1914 to build tractor engines for The Bull Tractor Company. Dell City ISD served grades 9-12 from that area after the opening of Alamogordo district's grade 1-8 Cienega School in 1965. In 1967 the eighth grade was moved to Dell City ISD. In 1970, all grades K-12 were sent to Dell City ISD as Cienega School closed. [11] As of 2020 the agreement is still in place. [12]
Lamesa Independent School District is a public school district based in Lamesa, Texas . In addition to Lamesa, the district also serves the city of Los Ybanez. The Lamesa athletic teams are known as the Golden Tornadoes or "Tors" for short. In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. [1]
On July 1, 1987, Windom Independent School District merged into Honey Grove ISD, and as a result the district was renamed the Honey Grove Consolidated Independent School District. [1] The district built a new high school and a new track during the 2008-09 school year. Honey Grove is recognized for its academic achievement. [2]
