Our neighbors use Oleander bushes for privacy adn they are fast growing and a beautiful flowering tree. As far as pricing, I was told by my realtor as well as a tree farm in the area that the price to install a tree is usually one-half the price of the tree itself.

Trees and other vegetation can be planted for psychological relief but not to physically lessen noise levels. And if you are concerned about visibility, you should be able to ask your local engineering division/office to check your plan to see that you meet the required offsets for intersection sight distances.
Since the Greenspace is owned by them, they are free to maintain it as they please. Trying to see if there's any argument i can make. While purchasing the house, the builder had mentioned that they plan to have the trees, bushes, shurbs, etc. to give us the privacy, but this was just a verbal discussion.
As Cape Coral has continued to grow we are losing all the vacant lots around our home and across the canals. With new homes all the trees are coming down as well and our views are becoming of the backs of homes, and their view of our home. We would like to possibly plant along our seawall to give back some of the privacy on both sides.
i purchased about 10 6-7 inch tall trees and 3 of them grow in partial shade. The trees have grown quite nicely after nearly 5 years, they are over 6ft tall. The ones growing in partial shade have a little more soil moisture and they seem to look a bit healthier and taller. I think as long as the trees are not in deep shade, you should be fine.
So looking for a privacy hedge to plant along the perimeter of our backyard view fence. I went over to Moon Valley Nursery and they all recommended Indian Laurel Columns (or ficus nitida). These bad boys are expensive and cheapest is at $199 a pop, I need to cover about 60' so will get pricey.
However, if cost if a factor, the cypress trees are alot cheaper than the arborvitae. It's a crap shoot. Where I live, alot of the cypress trees died from the drought we had last summer so now it is a matter of pulling out/cutting down dead, ugly, very tall cypress trees.
The area where I would plant a weeping willow is about 50 feet wide, so it would be large enough for it. Once the weeping willow is full grown, I project I will have full privacy from the neighbors in the back. I also have a cobblestone patio that I would like to plant some privacy bushes around. I was thinking of a couple of redbud trees.
Leylands are the best, I planted 32 around the sides of my back yard, 5 feet apart stem to stem. They are now over 20 feet tall, thick, dense and
