I've purchasing shipping via Etsy, USPS Priority Mail flat rate padded envelope. I understand that this should be eligible for a scheduled pickup. When I click on "Request a pickup", and try to add this item, it tells me that. Since Etsy wasn't letting me schedule the pickup, I've scheduled it directly through USPS.
But an interaction i recently had with a customer gave me an idea on maybe increasing my sells. The customer asked if i can make a custom version of an item i did not list with custom options. My question is: How do i go about the transaction process (accepting funds) on customers' special request orders?
They may demand the Buyer (or Recipient if it was a gift) to bring the package and contents to a FedEx location. Etsy should be used to process the refund to the Buyer. If the Buyer opened a Case on Etsy, you need to communicate all the steps you take with FedEx to resolve the issue if Etsy has not already refunded and/or closed the Case.
It's the tracking that is important, not the status of the your package p/up request. If the tracking shows "in transit", (and details likely show picked up, and other movement) then all is fine. Translate to English There was a problem fetching the translation.

I just noticed when looking at the FedEx Smartpost option compared to the Fedex One Rate on the shipping labels page when shipping an order that the price did not match what was on their website even for commercial pricing. For a 1-8oz package, it would cost $11.00 just to use the Fedex One Rate envelope..and the Fedex Smartpost cost $9.85.
I just sent a box via FedEx for $33 (plus an extra $3 for pick up) instead of the $72 from Etsy USPS parcel select ($47 USPS at the counter). The lower USPS price at the counter is not convenient for me because I would have to spend time and fuel to go the PO, and my time is valuable to be wasted just to save $10-$15 per package versus FedEx ...
