There needs to be more awareness about this, that people who have Hyperacusis cannot choose to not experience pain when it comes to sudden loud noises. It is real pain, that in some cases, can be so severe the person may feel a need to scream from it. White noise & Pink noise can help, but as far as I'm aware there is no cure for Hyperacusis.
