Presuming Luffy to be defeated, Lucci decides to take Usopp's suggestion with the intention of slaughtering the entire Straw Hat crew before returning to finish Luffy off. But Luffy, spurred by Usopp's words, gets back to his feet with a promise not to fall again until he wins. Luffy then engages Lucci in a final fist fight.
As Luffy and company deal with one of the four, the "captured" crew is forced to fight a second of Eneru's priests. They are saved by his predecessor, Ganfor, who is only able to make the priest leave after being defeated. Elsewhere, Luffy is able to defeat the first priest, and soon afterward reunites with his crew.
Luffy engages Oars, and with the help of his crew, they finally defeat the giant. With Thriller Bark ' s course having been left unattended, the fog begins to thin and the sun begins to rise. Robin is frozen by Aokiji and Luffy tells the others to escape with her. In the Going Merry, Usopp and Chopper try to thaw her in the shower. Luffy gets defeated, but his life is spared as Aokiji believes he must repay the debt the marines incurred from Crocodile's defeat at Luffy's hands. With the crew defrosted, they continue sailing as usual.
Luffy easily defeats the Blugori while Buggy is unable to defeat even one. Buggy reveals his past association with Ace and the circumstances behind his capture, and agrees to work with Luffy in exchange for the armlet he got at Thriller Bark, which is a clue to Captain John's treasure hoard.
Luffy is brought to the palace, where Hancock is shocked to learn of Luffy's attack on the World Noble. Luffy learns that the three sisters were once slaves of the World Nobles, but were freed when Fisher Tiger attacked Mariejois, and that he eventually founded the Sunny Pirates from former slaves. Hancock then grants Luffy use of her ship.
Luffy fights Wyper, but after some time, he falls into some underground ruins. Meanwhile, Eneru appears on the Going Merry and after telling that his true goal was the City of Gold, he takes out both Usopp and Sanji; He then vanishes and leaves Satori's brothers, Hotori and Kotori, to avenge their brother.
However, Luffy and Robin have not shown up yet. Chopper discovers another group of Fake Straw Hats and follows them, not realizing that they are the fake ones. While Robin continues to evade the government agents from capturing her, Luffy uses his Haki techniques to defeat Fake Luffy's group. Meanwhile, the government agents capture the Fake Robin.
