The site includes a small German colonial manor house that dates to 1803 with a large brick addition dating to 1858 and an attached log house, and a stone woolen mill that date to 1805. The original 1803 manor house is a two-and-one-half-story, three-bay wide building.

Hence the lumber barons' major homes in Williamsport, Pennsylvania called Millionaires Row. The woolen mill that was started was one of the businesses that sprang up to support the lumber industry.
The first foreman or manager of Tweedside was Alexander Michie, followed by Mr Liddle. In the late 1870s, Andrew Robb (1825-1900), the Manager of Gaberston Mill in Alloa, was brought in to manage the mill for the Thorburns. In 1881, he was sharing a house with Frederick Morris from Walkerburn, another Thorburn Mill manager - at Damside.
A post office called Hereford was in operation from 1830 to 2019. [4] The community took its name from Hereford Township. [5] It was previously known as Treichlersville. [6] At the end of March 2019 the post office closed on very short notice because the owner refused to renew the lease. [7]
