This means that a different header uses the sticky-table-none class. The header rows are top sticky and the first column is left sticky. When rowspan messes up what is sticky, the sticky-table-none class can be used to fix it. For illustration purposes, a background color has been added to the table: yellow for sticky-table-none
By default, text is aligned to the left of data cells. By default, text is aligned to the center of header cells. All of the above is true in both desktop and mobile view.
Class Summary sticky-header: Make the first header row top sticky. sticky-header-multi: Requires sortable table. Make multiple header rows top sticky. Avoid use with the sorttop class that becomes sticky after sorting. Avoid making headers sticky that aren't for the entire table (ex. section header rows).
For more complex table structures, Visual editor offers cell-merging operations; see details here.. In addition, it is usually possible to add or import a table that exists elsewhere (e.g., in a spreadsheet, on another website) directly into the visual editor by:
If the first text-word is too long, no text will fit to complete the left-hand side, so beware creating a "ragged left margin" when not enough space remains for text to fit alongside floating-tables. If multiple single image-tables are stacked, they will float to align across the page, depending on page-width.
You can add a table using HTML rather than wiki markup, as described at HTML element#Tables. However, HTML tables are discouraged because wikitables are easier to customize and maintain, as described at manual of style on tables. Also, note that the <thead>, <tbody>, <tfoot>, <colgroup>, and <col> elements are not supported in wikitext.
In the tables below, all columns sort correctly. The wikitext for the first entry in each table in the first row is shown in the table header. Note: None of the table columns use the data-sort-type= modifier. Using data-sort-type= can sometimes break sorting when used with the template.
