Dadudan Pratapdan Gadhvi, [1] (11 September 1940 – 26 April 2021) also known as Kavi Dad, [2] was a Gujarati poet and folk singer from Gujarat, India.
Pranav Vinodbhai Pandya [1] is a Gujarati-language writer, poet and columnist from Gujarat, India. In 2013, he received Kavi Ravji Patel Yuva Sahitya Pratibha Award, instituted by Gujarat Samachar. [2] In 2019, the Indian National Theatre awarded him the Shayda Award for his contribution to Gujarati poetry. [3]
Kavi Kalapi had written poems in various Chhand (metres) of the Gujarati language. Like Mandakranta, Shardulvikridit, Shikharini and others, to write poems in Chhand, one has to follow the structure of that chhand and the rules of chhandas poetry. Aapni Yadi is one of his best known ghazals in the Gujarati literature. [5]
Kavi Kant was born in Prashnora Brahman Family on 20 November 1867 in Chavand, a village in Amreli Prant of Baroda state, to Motibahen and Ratnaji Bhatt. His family's influence left him with a deep interest in both education and philosophy. He was a student of both Hindu and Biblical philosophy.
