Nature Cat is an educational animated children's television series that aired from November 25, 2015 to January 2, 2024 on PBS Kids and is aimed at children aged 3–8. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The series follows the adventures of four main characters: Nature Cat, Hal the Dog, Squeeks the Mouse, and Daisy the Bunny.
Alongside the series' announcement, Tom Ellis, Sasheer Zamata, Abraham Lim, Lucy Liu, Ally Maki, Betsy Sodaro, Tom Kenny, David Gborie and Mark Proksch, were cast as the ensemble cast. In May 2024, Suzy Nakamura and Kenny Yates joined the cast; [2] but within the two year span of the show's development, Liu and Lim dropped out from the project. [3]
The series follows a stray, grey raccoon named Scraggs, who gets adopted by Mrs. Muchmore after thinking he is a cat named Taffy. Her main pet, a blue dobermann named Bentley, is determined to reveal Taffy's secret to Mrs. Muchmore, leading to wacky slapstick antics as both Bentley and Scraggs/Taffy attempt to outwit each other to varying levels of success.
The season has 40 episodes. The series focuses on the misadventures of Gumball Watterson, a blue 12-year-old cat, along with his adopted brother, Darwin, a goldfish. Together, they cause mischief among their family, as well as with the wide array of students at Elmore Junior High, where they attend middle school.
