Run a test to 75.75.75.75, 75.75.76.76 or other Comcast DNS server. These servers de-prioritize ICMP traffic and will provide false-positives. Run a test to your modem/gateway's external IP address while on your network. Run a test while connected to a VPN service.

    forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/xfinity-speed-test-wont-run/...

The Xfinity speed test stopped working on my Windows desktop PC, but it works on my wireless devices. I can run other speed tests so that's not an issue. I want to know why the Xfinity one stopped working on my PC.

    forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/xfinity-speedtest-not...

Xfinity Speedtest not working again. As in previous posts in 2021, I'm having an issue with the Xfinity Speedtest link for the PC on an ethernet connection. It is generating the following error: "Opps. Something went wrong". I've tried running it on all three browsers: Firefox, Duck Duck Go, Edge, and Google Chrome without any browser plug-ins ...

  7. Sudden extremely slow internet speeds (<5MBPS)

    forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/sudden-extremely-slow...

Comcast support has insisted that it is a problem with my modem and I should change it, but it is relatively new (I only used it for one year), and I can't seem to find a problem with it. I have much higher internet speed tests (~60Mbps to ~100Mbps) before this problem started, and now the slow speed has been persisting for the past two days.

  8. Paying for 1GB but not even getting half the speed

    forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/paying-for-1gb-but-not-even...

The older Xfinity speed test had an option to set which IP version to use, but defaulted to IPv6. I have since switched to DSLreports speed test which allows selection of several test settings in the advanced section. To get the full 1Gbps I would use IPv4 and search for a very fast router. Most consumer routers will not achieve 1G using IPv6.

  9. How to Test Gateway Speed with Gateway in Bridge Mode

    forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/how-to-test-gateway-speed...

I can still turn the hotspot on/off through web management. In the XFinity app you can test speed to the gateway. Select Connect then Internet heath then test speed to gateway. I am on bridge mode and it works. It is separate from device speed. I get around 1010-1020 Mbps.

Not getting advertised speed. I signed up for the 1200 mbps plan but I am not receiving anything close to that speed. My speed fluctuates from 200 mbps to around 400 mbps. I have tried all of the recommended tips for increasing speed and nothing works. I also tried to adjust the settings on my my Xfinity Gateway, but most options are grayed out.
