Hi I currently have a ReadyNAS 214 device which after updating to firmware version 6.10.10, no longer allows me to install or update apps via the admin page as Netgear have now disabled it I only use one app on the device which is Plex Media Server and it is still working fine. However my con...
If you are ok using ssh, there is another option for your NAS - which is to eliminate the redirect of http to https for frontview access. This lets you connect to frontview with ordinary http (no encryption at all) - which works with Chrome, Edge, etc - and likely Brave.
All of a sudden when I try and access either the admin page or my own share, i get this message using EDGE or Google Chrome; This site can’t provide a secure connection 192.168.0.10 uses an unsupported protocol. But if you aren't forwarding https to the NAS in your router and don't have ssh enabled, then it might be smart to change the setting preemptively - eliminating any chance of seeing this issue later on. However, it does give you an unencrypted browser connection, so the NAS password, etc would be visible to anything doing a network trace.
No. It's true that the self-signed certificate on the NAS can't be verified, but there is still a way to click through that problem and connect anyway. The problem is that the old NAS use a protocol called TLS version 1.0. This is outdated, and the browsers have (very) recently dropped support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1.
Solved: Since I upgraed to Windows 11 I cannot access my ReadyNAS Duo from Windows. If I try to open a mapped share in File Explorer I get an error:
ZeroTier Central gives you the network ID to use and the info command above gives you the node address of the NAS so you can authorize the NAS in ZeroTier Central. Note that as of this date (Jan 25, 2023) I have verified that this install script works with ReadyNASOS6.10.8 on both Intel and ARM systems. The installed version isn't the latest.
1. Open NAS admin and click "accounts", then "new user" 2. I named my user: "user" and set password: "password". Keep it simple.. the rest I didn't touch 3. Now that we have a user - open Windows Credentials Manager 4. I created an account for both my IP (192.168.1.x) and my NAS (\\NAS) I then rebooted both the NAS and the PC.
Solved: I want to update the firmware and software on my RN10400 NAS currently on OS 6.1.6. The admin page cites an update to 6.2.5 which I try to
