My daughter has a Remington Model 7 in .260 Remington that we are thinking about selling. She's headed to med school & needs the money now more than she needs the rifle. It is blued steel with a synthetic stock. It has a Nikon Monarch 2.5-10 x 44 duplex scope and will come with about 7 boxes of factory ammunition.
Trying to decide between Remington 700 and Remington 7 length for a new build. Action will be one of the Rem clones with a side bolt release. Problem lies with being left handed; I have not been able to find a left handed Model 7 trigger. Since I don't need the Rem bolt release, would a Model...
I have owned a Model 7 260 Rem for almost 10 years. I love everything about the gun except, it will not usually shoot three shots into less than 1 inch. My gun is the same as the one you are looking at, stainless, synthetic, with a 20 inch very thin barrel.
I have a Model Seven is .300 RSAUM, and I have a Remington Ti Mountain gun also in .300 RSAUM. The load I shoot in the Ti (180 gr @ 2960 fps) is punishing in the Seven. I reduced the Seven loads to a 168 gr in the .30-06 velocity just so I am not flinching when I pull the trigger. If I ever rebarrel the Seven it will be in 7 SAUM, or 7 WSM.
I have several rifles some for long range and some for medium range and some for short range. I have a Remington Model 7 Stainless, leupold bases and rings, leupold 2.5 X 8 VX3. As a factory gun it shot sub 1. moa groups with handloads. After about 400 rounds it started shooting like a shotgun...
If you are shooting a Remington tupperware stock you will need to do a lot of modification to make it cinsistent. As stated they can be made to shot a round or two then they start spraying them allover the target. My 308 model seven action has been trued, rebarreled, new lug , pillars and glassed in lug. It shoots Accubonds, and Sciroccos in a ...

I'm looking for what works for whitetail hunting in a 20" 1/9" twist barrel on a Remington Model Seven. I've read everything from 100-140 grain for deer, but seems most say the 100-125 range is sufficient for the size of the deer in Pennsylvania. I'd like to shoot something that performs well out to at least 300-400 yards.
Having both, the 7 feels like a carbine, but length of pull is normal or standard. "The Model Seven is shorter in overall length, has a shorter rear bridge, larger ejection port and closer rear scope mounting screws than the Remington 700. Early Model Sevens has a total of three mounting screws. Later models will have four.
