The Theory of Cryptography Conference, often abbreviated TCC, is an annual conference for theoretical cryptography research. [6] It was first held in 2004 at MIT, and was also held at MIT in 2005, both times in February. TCC became an IACR-sponsored workshop in 2006.
The two building blocks of the construction, the algorithms Poly1305 and ChaCha20, were both independently designed, in 2005 and 2008, by Daniel J. Bernstein. [2] [3]In March 2013, a proposal was made to the IETF TLS working group to include Salsa20, a winner of the eSTREAM competition [4] to replace the aging RC4-based ciphersuites.
Cryptology Research Society of India (CRSI) is a scientific organisation that supports research in India on cryptography, data security, and related fields. [1] [2] The organisation was founded in 2001. [2] CRSI organises workshops and conferences about cryptology. [3]
Cryptography is also a branch of engineering, but an unusual one since it deals with active, intelligent, and malevolent opposition; other kinds of engineering (e.g., civil or chemical engineering) need deal only with neutral natural forces. There is also active research examining the relationship between cryptographic problems and quantum physics.
The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is an Abu Dhabi government funded research institution [1] [2] [3] that operates in the areas of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, autonomous robotics, cryptography, advanced materials, digital science, [4] directed energy, secure systems, and more recently also: biotechnology, renewable and sustainable energy, and propulsion and space.
Debdeep Mukhopadhyay is an Indian cryptographer and professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award for Science and Technology, [1] [2] [3] the highest science award in India, in 2021 for his contributions to micro-architectural security and cryptographic engineering.
The Alice and Bob characters were invented by Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir, and Leonard Adleman in their 1978 paper "A Method for Obtaining Digital Signatures and Public-key Cryptosystems". [2] Subsequently, they have become common archetypes in many scientific and engineering fields, such as quantum cryptography , game theory and physics . [ 3 ]
Lattice-based cryptography is the generic term for constructions of cryptographic primitives that involve lattices, either in the construction itself or in the security proof. Lattice-based constructions support important standards of post-quantum cryptography . [ 1 ]
