Emirati Women's Day, August 28, is a national United Arab Emirates day dedicated to gender equality and women empowerment. It was celebrated for the first time in 2015 upon the initiative of Fatima Bint Mubarak and it marks the anniversary of the creation of the UAE's General Women's Union.
During her career, she held symposiums, conferences and workshops for training and developing UAE women. Sheikha Moza was the first woman to represent UAE in conferences related to women all over the world. As the head of the UAE delegation, she attended international women conferences in Mexico (1975), Copenhagen (1985) and Eastern Germany.
