Poetry Qazi Muhammad Shamshad Nabi Farooqi, better known by his pen-name Saqi Farooqi ( Urdu : ساقی فاروقی ), was a British-Pakistani poet who wrote in both Urdu and English. Best known for his modernist Urdu poetry , mostly ghazal's and nazm's , he has authored critical essays as well.
His pen name was Tabassum (Urdu: تبسّم). [1] [2] He is best known for his many poems written for children, as the creator of the Tot Batot character, and as the translator of many poetic works from mostly Persian into Punjabi and Urdu languages. [1]
