Stitch, also known as Experiment 626 (pronounced "six two six"), is a fictional character from Disney's Lilo & Stitch franchise.A genetically engineered, extraterrestrial life-form resembling a blue koala, he is the more prominent of the franchise's two title protagonists, the other being his human adopter and best friend Lilo Pelekai.
His experiment number-–262-–is the inverse of 626-–Stitch's number; Ace is a purely heroic experiment, and Stitch had been designed to be purely destructive, thus, the opposite of 262. He also appeared in a special episode of the Stitch! anime where he's also shown to speak English and has the ability to fly.
On planet Turo, the United Galactic Federation convicts scientist Dr. Jumba Jookiba of illegal genetic experimentation; he has created Experiment 626, an aggressive and near-indestructible creature with great learning capabilities. 626 is sentenced to exile on a desert asteroid, but he escapes and hijacks a space cruiser that crash-lands on Kauaʻi, Hawaii, on the planet Earth.
