The Philadelphia Phillies were awarded the game on April 16, 2019. This will be the fourth time that the Phillies will host an All-Star Game, but the first since moving to Citizens Bank Park in 2004; the previous games were in 1952 at Shibe Park and in 1976 and 1996 at Veterans Stadium.
