North Point Light, also known as North Point Hummock Light, was located on North Point, the most northern point on Moreton Island. North Point Light was constructed in the early 1860s, carrying a large kerosene burner with a reflector. [1] In 1899, the lighthouse was replaced with a hardwood framed structure, clad with corrugated iron.
Originally a whaling station, Tangalooma Island Resort (formerly known as Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort) is a resort on the west side of Moreton Island in Queensland, Australia. It lies on the eastern shore of Moreton Bay and is known for its resort accommodation, dolphin-feeding program, sand dunes and wreck diving .
Bulwer is on the north-west coast of Moreton Island facing Moreton Bay. It is 40 kilometres (25 mi) to the Brisbane central business district. It is one of the few developed areas on Moreton Island which is almost entirely national park (Moreton Island National Park). It consists of a few streets of housing and a long sandy beach.
The island is home to Queensland's oldest operating lighthouse located at Cape Moreton on the northern tip of the island.
