The 2023–24 Al Ahly SC season was the 117th edition and the 53rd consecutive season in the topflight of Egyptian football. In addition to the domestic league, Al Ahly participated in this season's editions of the Egypt Cup, the League Cup, the CAF Champions League, the Africa Football League, the CAF Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Al Ahly won the African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1982 and 1987. Following the tournament's rebranding as the CAF Champions League, Al Ahly triumphed again in 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2008 under the coaching of the Portuguese Manuel José, [4] in 2012 under Hossam El-Badry, in 2013 under Mohamed Youssef, and in 2020 and 2021 under Pitso Mosimane.
