The Helga Pictures are a series of more than 268 paintings and drawings of German model Helga Testorf (born c. 1933 [1] [2] or c. 1939 [3] [4]) created by American artist Andrew Wyeth between 1971 and 1985.
According to his autobiography, Wyeth painted Evening at Kuerners while Karl Kuerner Jr. was very sick. The boy was tended by Helga Testorf, and Wyeth claimed to have met her for the first time while working on this painting. Testorf became one of Wyeth's most famous models in what became known as The Helga Pictures.
