Egg Harbor Township is a township in Atlantic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 47,842, [9] [10] its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 4,519 (+10.4%) from the 2010 census count of 43,323, [19] [20] which in turn reflected an increase of 12,597 (+41.0%) from the 30,726 counted in the 2000 census.
It is alongside Atlantic City International Airport [2] in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, [3] 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Atlantic City, and covers over 5,000 acres (2,023 ha). Egg Harbor City was officially incorporated as a city by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on June 14, 1858, from portions of Galloway Township and Mullica Township. The city was reincorporated on February 13, 1868. [ 30 ]
