Note: The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) divides the non-exempt dioceses of the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) into fourteen geographical regions—termed "Bishops' Regions" for the Latin Church provinces—and a fifteenth "region" that consists of the Eastern Catholic eparchies.

The Roman and Eastern Catholic Churches in North America and Central America comprise 14 episcopal conferences, which together include 100 ecclesiastical provinces, each of which is headed by a metropolitan archbishop.
Ecclesiastical provinces are separate from archdioceses, and govern the archdiocese and "suffragan" dioceses. Archdioceses should not be categorised as ecclesiastical provinces, but in Category:Roman Catholic dioceses in the United States.
