Thus there were de facto 16 Soviet republics, but the state emblem was changed to reflect this only after the end of WWII. By a decision of Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 26 June 1946, all 16 constituent republics were represented on the emblem. The USSR State Motto was inscribed on 16 ribbons in 16 languages.

The ribbon of Saint George (also known as Saint George's ribbon, the Georgian ribbon; Russian: Георгиевская лента, romanized: Georgiyevskaya lenta; and the Guards ribbon in Soviet context) [a] is a Russian military symbol consisting of a black and orange bicolour pattern, with three black and two orange stripes.
Day dresses had fitted bodices and full skirts, with jewel or low-cut necklines or Peter Pan collars. Shirtdresses, with a shirt-like bodice, were popular, as were halter-top sundresses. Skirts were narrow or very full, held out with petticoats; poodle skirts were a brief fad. Evening dresses were ankle-length (called "ballerina length").
