Shin Godzilla (シン・ゴジラ, Shin Gojira) [b] is a 2016 Japanese kaiju film directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, with a screenplay by Anno and visual effects by Higuchi.
The ride is a crossover between Godzilla and the characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion. It features a short 17-minute film directed by Kazuhiro Nakagawa where Godzilla from Shin Godzilla battles the Evangelion units. The ride also features a new incarnation of King Ghidorah based on ShinGoji's design.
On February 14, 2022, all four companies jointly announced that the collaborative project unites properties that Anno had worked on bearing the title "Shin", such as Shin Godzilla, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, [b] Shin Ultraman and Shin Kamen Rider; the project is intended only for merchandise, special events, and tie-in events.
