This list of bridges in China includes notable bridges. China has a long history in bridge construction. The oldest bridge still in existence in China is the Anji Bridge, constructed during the years between 595 and 605. During the infrastructure boom of the past two decades, bridge-building has proceeded at a rapid pace on a vast scale.
The bridge spans the canyon between two mountain cliffs in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in the northwest of Hunan province. It is designed to carry up to 800 visitors at a time. The bridge was designed by Israeli architect Haim Dotan. [2] To build the bridge, engineers erected four support pillars on the edges of the walls of the canyon.
The Anji bridge influenced the design of later Chinese bridge structures, such as the similar Yongtong Bridge near Zhaoxian in Hebei. The Yongtong Bridge is a 26 m (85 ft) long stone segmental-arch bridge built in 1130 by the Song structural engineer Pou Qianer. [8] [9] The intriguing design of the Anji bridge has given rise to many legends.

Mao Yisheng, a famous expert on the bridge, said, "A part of Guangji Bridge is connected by boats as a pontoon bridge. When it is open, there is a channel for ships and boats to get across. It can also be closed. Since it can be open or closed, it is a special case in the history of bridges in China."
The Duge Bridge (), also called the Beipanjiang Bridge, is a four-lane cable-stayed bridge on the border between the provinces of Guizhou and Yunnan in China. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It spans the deep gorge of the Nizhu River (a tributary of the Beipan ), near the town of Duge.
The bridge has nine pairs of cables. The Qiansimen Bridge has the longest stay cable of both bridges, measuring 256.85 metres (843 feet) long. [1] The bridge was shortlisted for an award by the Institution of Structural Engineers. [4] The substructure was built by China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group Co. Ltd.
