Still Hopes, also known as the Gabriel Alexander Guignard House and South Carolina Episcopal Home, is an historic home located in West Columbia, South Carolina, Lexington County, South Carolina. It was built in 1910, and is a two-story, brick, Georgian Revival mansion with a truncated hip roof.
It includes commercial, institutional, and residential buildings built between 1894 and 1916 as a planned residential community for the Columbia Duck Mill. Notable buildings include the Edward W. Shull Building, Thompson Funeral Home, Brookland Fire Station, Brookland Jail, and single and double tenant houses. [2] [3]

It built in 1892–1893, and is a three-story, irregular plan, Queen Anne style frame dwelling. It features a corner turret with conical roof and a long curving enclosed front porch. It was built by W. B. Smith Whaley, president of the Columbia Electric Street Railway and Mill Stable Company. In 1924, it became the Dunbar Funeral Home. [2] [3]
The Babcock Building was scheduled to be renovated into apartment buildings for Columbia's planned Bull Street District. The state had sold 143 out of the property's 181 acres for $18.5 million. On December 13, 2018, the building's roof caught fire. The state of South Carolina paid for repairs which may cost up to $400,000. [4]
The 2,800-square-foot Bruchi’s is being built alongside a future 1,500-square-foot home for Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream. The bank was demolished in early 2023. Richland
