The American University of Beirut is a private international university which has its campus in Beirut, Lebanon. As of January 2020 [update] , the university has 9,495 students, 1,214 faculty and over 70,000 alumni.
The Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI) is located at the American University of Beirut (AUB). [1] This independent institute develops policy research in the Arab region. [1] It is currently headed by Joseph Bahout. [2] The Institute won a prestigious architecture award in 2016. [3]

Dodge was born in Beirut on November 17, 1922. Dodge was a member of a prominent American family who were closely involved with Lebanon for well over a century. [1] His father was Bayard Dodge, a former AUB president, his maternal grandfather was Howard Bliss, also a former president, and his great-grandfather was Daniel Bliss, who founded AUB in 1866. [2]
