John Hoogenakker (/ ˈ h oʊ ɡ ə n æ k ər /) [1] is an American stage, screen and commercial actor. On stage, he has been in a number of plays in the Chicago and Milwaukee area. He played the Bud Light King in Bud Light's Dilly Dilly television commercials.
He began his career on the New York stage, then started a career in film and television. He appeared in several TV shows from the 1960s to the 1990s. He is best known for appearing in television commercials for Dos Equis beer, from 2006 to 2016, as the character The Most Interesting Man in the World .
His last commercial saw him take a one-way journey to Mars amid much acclaim, and the narration: "His only regret is not knowing what regret feels like".
