[37] The parish has historic ties to the Sisterhood of St. John the Divine, the Order of St Francis (now the Society of St Francis), and both historic and continuing ties to the Order of the Holy Cross.

The Missionaries of Charity (Latin: Congregatio Missionariarum a Caritate) is a Catholic centralised religious institute of consecrated life of Pontifical Right for women [3] established in 1950 by Mother Teresa, now known in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
On 4 September 2016, she was canonised by the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta. The anniversary of her death, 5 September, is now observed as her feast day . Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity , a religious congregation that was initially dedicated to serving "the poorest of the poor" in the slums of Calcutta.
It was founded by St. Mother Teresa on her 42nd birthday in 1952, [5] two years after she established Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata.
