Breyer Animal Creations (commonly referred to as simply Breyer) is primarily a manufacturer of model horses.Founded in 1950, the company, now a division of Reeves International, Inc, [1] specializes in model horses made from cellulose acetate, a form of plastic, and produces other animal models from the same material as well.
The original herd stallion Mesteño was used as the model for a series of Breyer Horses, showing the horse at several ages from foal to old age. It was the first time the company had made a series of models showing the same horse. [3]
