The 2021–22 season is Salford City's 82nd year in their history and third consecutive season in League Two. Along with the league, the club will also compete in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022.
The 2019–20 season is Salford City's 80th season in their existence and first ever season in League Two following the club's promotion via the play-offs last season. [1] Along with competing in League Two, the club will also participate in the FA Cup, League Cup and EFL Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020.
The National League was formed in 1979 from leading teams in the Northern Premier League and Southern League and was known originally as the Alliance Premier Football League and from 1986–87 as the Football Conference. Support for such a league came from Alan Hardaker, the long serving Secretary of the Football League.
