Acrobatic gymnastics is a competitive discipline of gymnastics where partnerships of gymnasts work together and perform routines consisting of acrobatic skills, dance and tumbling, set to music. The sport is governed by the International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG).
The 2010 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held at the Rotterdam Ahoy indoor sporting arena in the Netherlands from 16 to 24 October 2010. In this year's championships, there was a total of 73 participating federations with 615 gymnasts (343 men and 272 women). 53 men's and 44 women's teams competed.
Since 1997, the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup has been contested as a series of stages in different cities around the world. From 2003 to 2010, events at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series were divided into Category A and Category B; Category A events were reserved for invited athletes only, while Category B events were open to all athletes.
