CHVRCHES (stylised CHVRCHΞS and pronounced "Churches") are a Scottish synth-pop band from Glasgow, formed in September 2011. [1] The band consists of Lauren Mayberry , Iain Cook , Martin Doherty [ 2 ] and, unofficially since 2018, Jonny Scott. [ 3 ]
Lauren Eve Mayberry (born 7 October 1987) is a Scottish musician who is the vocalist and percussionist of the pop band Chvrches. [7] In Chvrches, Mayberry co-writes and co-produces the songs with Iain Cook and Martin Doherty, and sings as the lead vocalist. She also plays drums and keyboards. Mayberry is a soprano. [8]

Prior to forming Chvrches, Doherty was a touring member of the indie rock bands The Twilight Sad and Aereogramme. Doherty plays keyboards, sampler, guitar and performs main vocals and backing vocals. He also contributes to Chvrches' songwriting and production. Doherty’s father is also a Catholic Deacon and Religious Education teacher.

Love Is Dead is the third studio album by Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches.It was released on 25 May 2018 by Virgin EMI Records and Goodbye Records. The album was co-produced by Greg Kurstin, marking the first time the band have worked with outside producers.
