Banner Elk Hotel is a historic hotel building located at Banner Elk, Avery County, North Carolina. The original section of the hotel dates to about 1856, with expansions made between 1877 and 1891. Two-story rear wings and smaller additions were made between 1891 and 1898.
It flows to NC 194 (Balm Highway/Main Street), then changes direction to Southwest and connects with Shoemaker Creek as it enters the town limits of Banner Elk. It goes parallel with NC 194 before it bends left and cuts through the Banner Elk park area, eventually reaching NC 184 (Tynecastle Highway/Shawneehaw Avenue).
