Provincetown Public Schools, also known as Provincetown School District, or Provincetown International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools, is the school district of Provincetown, Massachusetts, serving grades Kindergarten through 8. The current K-8 building, previously the high school building, was dedicated in 1938.
Nauset Public Schools, or the Nauset Regional School District, is a school district headquartered in Orleans, Massachusetts. [1] In addition to Orleans its attendance area includes Brewster, Eastham, and Wellfleet. [2] It also takes middle and high school students from Truro, [3] and since 2012 high school students from Provincetown. [4]
In 2010, the Provincetown School Board elected to shut down Provincetown High School, [6] by the end of the 2012–13 academic school year due to falling enrollment and lack of funds. [citation needed] By 2012 the 9th and 10th grade students at Provincetown were already moved to Nauset Regional. [7]
The year-round Provincetown resident works as the director of student financial services at Emmanuel College in Boston and also has a son who is a student in the Provincetown school system.

Prior to its closing, Provincetown High School (PHS) served students from seventh through twelfth grades (and for a time also accepted students from Truro). In 2012, Provincetown High School was recognized as one of the smallest high schools in the country with a student population of 32 students in grades 10–12.
