On 22 January 2007, Berowra station was almost engulfed as bushfires swept the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Efforts from firefighters saved the station and a train which had terminated there. [9] In February 2024, a man and woman were struck and killed by a freight train while attempting to cross the tracks at Berowra station.
In December 1968 the Pacific Motorway opened from Berowra to the Hawkesbury River. [4] [5] As it was a toll road, toll booths were installed at Berowra adjacent to the heavy vehicle checking station.
