360° panorama. Harmony in Blue and Gold: The Peacock Room (better known as The Peacock Room [1]) is a work of interior decorative art created by James McNeill Whistler and Thomas Jeckyll, translocated to the Freer Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Whistler painted the paneled room in a unified palette of blue-greens with over-glazing and metallic gold leaf.
A little dog is barking in the crouching position, at the bottom right. The wall in the background is shown in blue, pink, purple and brown tones, while the window on the right appears in transparent white green, yellow and gray strips. Through the window, there are houses with bright red roofs.
They are displayed in several parts of the palace, including the new Cumberland Art Gallery. [1] In September 2015, the Royal Collection recorded 542 works (only those with images) as being located at Hampton Court, mostly paintings and furniture, but also ceramics and sculpture. The full current list can be obtained from their website. [2]
Light walls, dull yellow ocre door into kitchen right. Very good looking blond boy in white (coat, cap) inside counter. Girl in red blouse, brown hair eating sandwich. Man night hawk (beak) in dark suit, steel grey hat, black band, blue shirt (clean) holding cigarette. Other figure dark sinister back—at left.
The extreme left panel also depicts a city environment. The highlight of the panel is a human figure depicted as opening a window, allowing sunshine to enter in the room. A man is also pictured, pulling a woman from the dark world below. At the top of this panel six figures engage in a business trade and exchange different tools and bags of wheat.
The White House's Art collection was established by an Act of Congress in 1961 and grew extensively during the Kennedy Administration. [5] It now includes more than 65,000 objects if individual items are catalogued. [6]
