    Go to C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel as in Option 1 (This path is one level lower of XLSTART) and change the extension of .xlb file (s) to something else say .xlb1. Close Excel and restart Excel again. Your old .xlb file will be there in the folder so that in case you need it in future.

    Replied on March 24, 2017. Report abuse. You need to save your Book1.xlsx as Book.xltx (File > Save As > Type would be Excel Template *.xltx) into XLSTART folder.     Please check below folders: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART. C:\Documents and Settings\ (*** User Name****)\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART.     If yes, use windows start button to search for your xlstart folder. If there's a file named book1.xls in there, move it or delete it. Don't delete any file named book.xlt or sheet.xlt. If that doesn't work, use windows start button|search to look for book1.xls. When you find it, move it or delete it.

    Set myBook1 = GetObject("Book1.xls") If the software just create a workbook without saving then the name should Book1 without the file extension. So double check if the file is automaticly saved as this may cause the code to fail. My code assume your software only returns one chart and the underlying data at a time.

    If that workbook is really named book1.xls, look in your XLStart folder for Book1.xls. And check tools|options|General tab There's a box that allows you to specify a folder: "At startup, open all files in:" Either delete the entry from that box or remove book1.xls from that folder. ps.
