Dragon Age: Origins crashes a lot on modern PCs. One way to reduce or even eliminate this is by using NTCore's 4GB patch. This is a tool (not specific for this game) that patches x86 executables to allow them to use more memory. Their is an item that you can buy (Manual of Focus) in Awakening from (Herren I believe at vigils keep) that resets skill, talents, attribute points and even specialization. I used it on Oghren once because I needed him to change from a dps focused warrior that I had him as in origins into a true tank after Ser Mhairi sadly died.
The PhysX software for "Dragon Age: Origins" is in the ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Origins\redist" folder. But the game will also run with the newest NVIDIA PhysX software.
