BADLAND ZXR 5000 lb. UTV/Powersport 12V Winch with Wire Rope - Item 56326 / 56530 Manual says 12V 3.8HP. So 2.8kW. At 12V, that's 233 Amps. So that's what you need from the battery, pretty high current ratings. More economical just to keep one lead acid 12V deep cycle battery in there.

3/12v = 36v? Or can I use 3 12v batteries in my 36v golf cart? You can use 3/12v batteries in series to create a 36v power supply. However this supply will be lacking in amperage capacity and deep cycle ability. The result will be poor run time and shortened battery lifetime. The batteries should be golf cart specific batteries.

"Deep cycle" batteries are also "marine batteries" also used in lawn equipment 4 wheelers lift gates ect. Usually for things that either sit a lot or have a deep cycle use. They can be drained low and brought back a lot more than a standard battery. I could be wrong on this but I see no downside to deep cycle battery use on a golf cart.
